KHULNA, March 29, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 have arrested a fugitive accused in a robbery case from the Harintana area of the city.

The arrestee was identified as Shawon, 25, son of Azgar of Nazirghat under Sonadanga Police Station in Khulna.

According to RAB sources, a team of RAB-6, CPC Sadar Company, conducted a drive around 8:40pm on Saturday in front of Janani Rice Hotel near Zero Point under Harintana Police Station based on secret information and apprehended Shawon.

He was the second accused named in the case filed with Harintana Police Station.

According to the case statement, on February 16, at 10:15pm, Shawon and his associates allegedly attacked Akash Sheikh, 23, using sharp weapons, and snatched a 'Suzuki Gixxer Monotone' motorcycle, an 'Infinix Note 50 Pro' smartphone, and cash amounting to Tk 15,000.
Hearing the victim's screams, locals rescued him and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where he received treatment.

Later, the victim's mother filed a case with Khulna Metropolitan Sadar Police Station in this connection.

The arrestee has been handed over to Sadar Police Station for further legal action, RAB added.
