GAIBANDHA, April 05, 2026 (BSS) - Gobindaganj Thana police recovered a hanging body of a woman from her husband's house at Bogulagari village under Darbasta Union of Gobindaganj Upazila in the district on Saturday. 

The victim is identified as Reziba Khatun, wife of Suza Miah of the village. 

Police said the family members found the hanging body of the woman in her house in the morning and informed the police. Then the police of the thana rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Gaibandha General Hospital for autopsy. 

The locals also detained Suza Miah, husband of the victim and handed him over to the police. 

The locals suspected that after killing her, her husband had hanged the body to prove that she had killed herself by hanging. 

Officer in charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Thana Mojammel Haque confirmed the incident and said a murder case was filed with the thana in this connection.
