CHATTOGRAM, April 4, 2026 (BSS) - A ship, "Shan Gang Fa Jian", has docked at Chattogram Port with 34,000 tonnes of diesel from Malaysia.

Chattogram Port Authority Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim confirmed the arrival on Saturday morning. The ship arrived at the Kutubdia Channel in the Bay of Bengal at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port on Friday night.

The ship departed from Malaysia for Chattogram on March 29. Its local agent is Pride Shipping Lines. Managing Partner Nazrul Islam of the Shipping Lines mentioned that the ship is carrying a little over 34,000 tonnes of diesel, with 5-6,000 tonnes needing to be unloaded at the outer anchorage through lightening. This process will require at least two operations to complete. If all goes well, the ship is expected to dock at the Dolphin Jetty in Patenga on Sunday.

Another ship named 'Yan Jing He' arrived from Singapore with 27,300 tons of diesel and is currently unloading oil at Padma Oil's Dolphin Jetty-6. It is scheduled to leave the port on Sunday.

The local agent for this ship is Pride Shipping. According to Chattogram Port Authority Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim, oil and gas ships are being prioritized to address the current fuel crisis. Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) sources reported that the tenth diesel-carrying ship has arrived at Chattogram port since the conflict in the Middle East began.

To ensure a steady fuel supply, the company is importing additional fuel from alternative sources outside the Middle East, in addition to the pipeline supply.
