Youth fined for attempting to collect fuel using fake identity in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 5, 2026 (BSS) – A mobile court has fined a young man Tk 10,000 for attempting to collect fuel by violating regulations using a false identity in Rajshahi city.

In default of payment, he has been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.

The drive, led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Borhan Uddin Ontor, was conducted around 12:45 pm today at Gul Gafur Petrol Pump under Boalia Model Police Station in the city.

The convicted individual, Touhidur Rahman, is the son of Mobarak Hossain of the Raypara area under Kashiadanga Police Station in the city.

According to the mobile court, Touhidur Rahman attempted to collect fuel from Gul Gafur Petrol Pump by posing as a police officer.

When the matter came to the attention of the pump authorities, a mobile court operation was immediately carried out.

After the offence was proven, Executive Magistrate Borhan Uddin Ontor fined him Tk 10,000 on the spot under Section 92(1) of the Road Transport Act, 2018.

In addition, a six-month jail sentence was imposed in case of non-payment of the fine.

The administration stated that such drives will continue in the future in the public interest to prevent fraud and irregularities.
