JHALAKATHI, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Rayapur area under Nalchiti upazila of the district on 
Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was Humayun Kabir Sagar, 35, former councillor of Ward No-9 of Jhalakathi Municipality.

The accident took place around 2.00 pm on the Barishal-Jhalakathi highway 
when a motorcycle hit a roadside tree as its driver lost control of the bike, 
leaving motorcycle rider Sagar dead on the spot and injuring its pillion.

Injured Sohel, a businessman from the Station Road area of Jhalakathi, was 
sent to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nalchiti Police Station Ariful Islam confirmed the 
matter.
