Helper killed as brick-laden trolley overturns in Jhalakathi

JHALAKATHI, April 26, 2026 (BSS) - A trolley helper was killed in a road accident in Galua Bazar on the Rajapur-Bhandaria highway in Rajapur upazila early Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Tanvir Islam, 18, son of late Abdul Haque, a resident of Dakshin Pipolita area in Jhalakathi Sadar upazila.

According to police and local sources, the accident occurred around 1.00 am when a brick-laden trolley overturned into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control of the vehicle, leaving its helper Tanvir injured critically.
 
He was taken to Rajapur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Nalchiti Police Station Sujan Biswas confirmed the matter.
