KHULNA, May 1, 2026 (BSS)- Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju today announced plans to introduce dedicated bicycle lanes in the city.

He made the announcement while addressing a bicycle rally and stunt show competition at Shibbari intersection in the city.

The KCC administrator said separate bicycle lanes along with necessary infrastructure and proper management would help ensure safe movement of commuters, reduce road accidents and ease traffic congestion in the city.

It will also contribute to reducing air pollution, protecting public health and building an eco-friendly urban environment, he said.

Sponsored by Akij Group and supported by Khulna Cyclists, the programme featured the first-ever stunt show competition in Khulna division. Earlier, a colourful bicycle rally paraded different city roads.

General Secretary of Nirapad Sarak Chai local chapter Mahbubur Rahman Munna attended the function as special guest.

Renowned stunt rider Shahriar Mahmud served as judge of the competition conducted by Naim Khan, Mahathir Mohammad Othai and Sayed Khan.
