KHULNA, May 2, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju today urged teachers to play an active role in making the ongoing measles-rubella vaccination campaign in the city a complete success.
He made the call while addressing an orientation meeting with teachers held at the Nagar Health Bhaban on Sher-e-Bangla Road here this morning.
The meeting, organised by the Health Department of KCC, was attended by teachers from different pre-primary educational institutions in the metropolis.
Speaking as the chief guest, the KCC administrator said the measles-rubella campaign is being conducted in Khulna metropolitan area in line with the nationwide programme.
“KCC is making all-out efforts to ensure 100 percent success of the vaccination drive as the vaccine is crucial for the safe growth and protection of children,” he said.
Describing teachers as the most aware section of society, Manju said the school-based vaccination programme would begin soon and teachers would act as guardians of the children at educational institutions.
“It is your responsibility to convey the benefits of vaccination to every child’s family,” he added.
The KCC administrator sought overall cooperation from teachers to ensure full success of the campaign and urged them, as conscious citizens, to monitor vaccination centres in their respective areas.
