Life-term convict arrested in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 7, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a fugitive convict in a drug case from the Feringi Bazar area of the city.

The arrestee, Zafar Sadek, 50, is the son of Md. Abdur Shukkur of Churiyaltuli Lane No. 2 under Kotwali Police Station in the city.

According to police, a court sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a fine of Taka 5,000 in the drug case filed with Feni Model Police Station in 2013. The court had issued arrest of warrant against following the verdict.

He was nabbed on Wednesday during a drive conducted by CMP.

He was handed over to Feni Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Md. Aftab Uddin, confirmed the incident.
