PATUAKHALI, May 8, 2026 (BSS) – Bauphal Paurasava Awami League president Abdul Latif Khan Babul was arrested in a case filed over vandalism of BNP party office here.

Police in Bauphal Upazila arrested him from his residence around 2:00 pm today.

According to police, Abdul Latif Khan had been named in the FIR in connection with the recent vandalism at the Bauphal Upazila BNP office. The case had sparked widespread discussion in local political circles for a long time. As part of the ongoing investigation, police conducted a raid on Friday and detained him.

In this regard, Bauphal Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sirajul Islam told BSS that Latif, a named accused in the BNP office vandalism case, has been arrested.
