BAGERHAT, June 6, 2026 (BSS) – An awareness rally and mosquito extermination campaign and cleanliness drive were held in Kachua today as part of a nationwide effort to prevent the dengue outbreak.

The program was jointly organized by the Kachua Upazila Administration and the Upazila Health Complex.

The morning began with an awareness rally that started from the Upazila complex, paraded through key town roads and concluded back at the Upazila Parishad premises.

During the march, participants urged citizens to eliminate Aedes mosquito breeding grounds and maintain clean surroundings. Following the rally, teams conducted localized cleaning and mosquito eradication operations across various parts of the Upazila.

Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Ali Hasan attended the event as the chief guest.

He stated, "Dengue can be combated simply by keeping our own yards and workplaces clean. Through our joint efforts, we can keep the residents of Kachua safe from this disease."

Political leaders and local dignitaries attended the programmes, among others.
