NARSINGDI, July 10, 2026 (BSS) - The district administration has recovered two drum trucks and one payloader belonging to Madhabdi Municipality during a raid conducted at Chattogram Engineering Motor Works garage near Itakhola intersection of Shibpur upazila in Narsingdi district.

The drive was carried out this noon under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Khalid Hossain Shimul following a tip-off.

During the drive, no registration number plates were found on the recovered vehicles. However, Madhabdi Municipality employees Bazlu, Hasan, Kamal, Al-Amin and Shahid identified the vehicles as municipal property. The owner of the garage, Tajul Islam, also confirmed the claim.

During interrogation, Tajul Islam said that four drum trucks and one payloader of Madhabdi Municipality had been brought to his garage for repair long before August 5, 2024. Of those, two drum trucks were repaired and handed over to the then mayor before August 5, 2024, while the remaining two drum trucks and one payloader had been kept at the garage ever since.

He also admitted that after August 5, 2024, he did not communicate with the municipal authorities regarding the remaining vehicles, describing it as an unintended mistake on his part.

The administration said the recovered vehicles have been handed over to Madhabdi Municipality.
