BGB distributes food items among 100 poor families in Kushtia border areas

KUSHTIA, July 13, 2026 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) distributed food items among 100 poor and low-income families in border areas of Kushtia as part of its humanitarian assistance programme.

The food distribution programme was held at Pragpur area under Daulatpur upazila this morning, according to a press release issued by Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB) of the paramilitary force.

Commanding Officer of 47 BGB Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Kamal Rony attended the programme as the chief guest and handed over food packages to the beneficiaries.

BGB officials said many day labourers, agricultural workers and low-income people in the border areas have been facing hardship due to prolonged rainfall and adverse weather conditions, which have affected their regular sources of income during the monsoon season.

The release said the initiative was taken as part of the force’s humanitarian responsibility to support the affected people.

Among others, the acting deputy commander, acting quartermaster, BGB officers and members, local public representatives, union parishad members, teachers, journalists and other distinguished persons were present at the programme.
