RAB recovers abandoned old fresh metal grenade in Nilphamari

RANGPUR, Sept 5, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered an abandoned old fresh metal grenade from the northern part of a pond in Shwaskandar Dangapara village under Saidpur Police Station in Nilphamari district.

On a tip off, an operational team from the RAB-13 Nilphamari Camp, with the assistance of its skilled and trained Bomb Disposal Team, recovered the grenade from the spot in the presence of local people at 7 pm on Friday.

"The weight of the recovered grenade is estimated to be 450 grams and its length is estimated to be five inches," according to a RAB-13 press release issued here today.

Later, the recovered fresh metal grenade was handed over to Saidpur Police Station of Nilphamari district on the basis of a general diary (GD) filed on Friday.
