DMP's Motijheel division arrest 50 in anti-crime drives in city

DHAKA, Sept 5, 2026 (BSS) - The Motijheel Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) arrested 50 people in separate anti-crime drives during the last 
24 hours.

According to DMP's media and public relations division press release issued 
here today, the arrests were made during the raids carried out on September 4 
in different areas under the division.

It said as part of the anti-crime campaign, the DMP has been conducting 
regular operations in different police stations to maintain law and order and 
control crime in the city.

Of the arrested, five were by the Motijheel Police Station, 10 by the Paltan, 
five by the Sabujbagh, six by the Khilgaon, eight by the Rampura and nine by 
the Shahjahanpur and seven by the Mugda Police Stations, the release added.

The DMP said that Paltan Police Station carried out various anti crime drives 
and arrested the highest number of suspected criminals during the drive.

Police produced the arrested people before a Dhaka court after taking legal 
proceedings, it added.
