DHAKA, Sept 5, 2026 (BSS) — The paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Judo team won the championship title in the 2nd National Judo Kata Championship-2026 with an impressive performance.

The Bangladesh Judo Federation organised the competition at the Handball Stadium here today, according to a BGB press release issued this evening.

Five teams - BGB, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) and Uttara College, Dhaka - participated in the championship.

Four BGB judokas competed in the event, winning one gold and one bronze medal to secure the team championship. BKSP finished runners-up with one silver and one bronze medal, the release said.

Bangladesh Police Additional Inspector General (Crime and Operations) and Bangladesh Judo Federation President Khondkar Rafiqul Islam attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.

BGB regularly provides its members with sports training and opportunities to participate in competitions to promote discipline, leadership, physical fitness and mental resilience, while contributing to the country's sports arena at national and international levels.
