CCC evicts over 200 shops

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 6, 2026 (BSS) - The mobile court of the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) conducted a drive against shops that were illegallyestablished by occupying roads and footpaths in the Bahaddarhat area of the city.
 
The operation took place from in front of the Bahaddarhat Kacha Bazar Mosque to Bahaddar Pukurpar along Shah Amanat Setu Road on Sunday. This initiative was spearheaded by CCC Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidya.
 
During the operation, over 200 illegal shops that had encroached upon roads and footpaths were removed. With the removal of these encroachments, a normal environment for both pedestrians and vehicles was restored.
 
The drive was supported by officers and staff from the relevant departments of the Chattogram City Corporation, along with members of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police and Chandgaon Thana Police.
