DHAKA, Sept 6, 2026 (BSS) - Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikrom, today released fish fingerlings into the Sangsad Bhaban lake, said a press release here.
 
JS Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Whip ABM Ashraf Uddin (Nizan), Minister for Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid and State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku were present.

Whips, Members of Parliament, the Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and the Director General of the Department of Fisheries also took part in releasing fish fingerlings event.

The Department of Fisheries, under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, organized the event as part of National Fisheries Week-2026. 

A total of 450 kilograms of fingerlings of Rui, Katla and Kalibaush species were released into the lake.
