DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) - Fact-checking platform, BanglaFact, operated by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), has identified that official pages of the Awami League are active in rumors regarding 'missing bodies' after the plane crash in Uttara.

In a statement, BanglaFact mentioned that after aircraft crash in Uttara, the Awami League is spreading rumors and misinformation on social media surrounding this heartbreaking incident.

Although there is no evidence of 'missing bodies', at least 21 posts have been made from the party's official Facebook page in this regard, they added.

Eleven posts contain misinformation and provocative statements on the issue of student agitation.

Moreover, the official page of the banned Chhatra League posted 15 exaggerated posts on the 'number of bodies' and six posts on 'situation of the movement'.

In addition, Sajeeb Wazed Joy shared false information, claiming that one person was killed in the movement.

He also spread misinformation about the police action in at least five more posts.

As a result, BanglaFact said, it is clear from the activities of the party's official Facebook pages that the party is trying to anger students by spreading rumor that hundreds of bodies have been hidden.
