Shaheen shines to restrict Rajshahi to 168-4

DHAKA, Jan 6, 2025 (BSS) - Fortune  Barishal’s Pakistan recruit Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed 2-20 in an economical bowling effort to restrict Durbar Rajshahi to 168-4 in their first match of BPL Sylhet phase at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.

Shaheen’s misery bowling was key in stifling Rajshahi initially after they were put into bat first.

Captain Anamul Haque was the top-scorer for Rajshahi with 35 ball-39, sending the ball across the ropes for five times before being dismissed in the penultimate over.

Opener Jishan Alam who was dismissed for duck in the first two matches, returned to the groove with 27 ball-38. His innings featured three fours and as many sixes.

Yasir Ali who was instrumental in propelling the side past 150-run mark, made 23 ball-37.

Earlier in Dhaka phase match, Rajshahi lost to Barishal despite putting up 197 runs.
