DHAKA, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS)- Fast bowler Nahid Rana put up an impressive
performance to script Rangpur Riders' comprehensive seven-wicket win over
Dhaka Capitals today for their fifth straight victory in Bangladesh Premier
League (BPL) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Rana ran through Dhaka batting line up with three wickets, conceding just 21
runs in his four overs and with little help from others wrapped up them for
just 111 in 16.3 overs.

Thanks to Alex Hales's 27 ball-44, laced with four fours and three sixes,
Rangpur reached 113-3 in 13.2 overs to hand Dhaka their fourth straight
defeat in the tournament.

After being dismissed for duck in the last two matches, Azizul Hakim Tamim,
finally opened his account in BPL but he was able to score just 5 runs before
being removed by Mustafizur Rahman.

Hales who scored an unbeaten century just less than 24 hours ago in Rangpur's
eight-wicket victory over Sylhet Strikers, kept the runs flowing.

Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, playing his first match for Dhaka got the better of
Hales before he reached his 50-run-mark but Khushdil Shah with unbeaten 13
ball-27 helped the side canter to the victory with ease.

Khushdil Shah along with his Pakistan compatriot Akif Javed earlier took two
wickets to complement Nahid Rana in stifling Dhaka Capitals.

Tanzid Hasan Tamim was the top-scorer for the side with 16 ball-20. He had to
come up as No.3 batter, as Dhaka's English recruit Jason Roy replaced him in
the opening position.

But even the arrival of Jason Roy couldn't bring any change to Dhaka's
vulnerable batting line up. Roy, however, made just 18 in his first match
with Dhaka.
