DHAKA, Jan 9, 2025 (BSS) - Sabbir Rahman who once touted as the only genuine T20 batter of Bangladesh hammered 33 ball-82 not out to steer Dhaka Capitals to against Chittagong Kings in their fifth match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.

Dhaka are seeking their first victory in the tournament after losing four straight matches.

Sabbir Rahman was kept out from the squad in the last couple of matches due to disciplinary issue, according to its head coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon.

However, he flourished with full glory to help reach this position despite a middle order collapse. He survived twice on 66 and 74 when Chittagong fielders failed to hold onto the catch he offered. He, however, remained unbeaten and his innings was laced with three fours and nine sixes.

Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim only could prop up his game amongst the top order making 48 ball-53 with four fours and two sixes. Farmanullah with 10 not out was the only other batter to reach double digits.

Pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed scalped 3-21 to be the top wicket-taker for Chittagong.
