RANGPUR, Jan 10, 2025 (BSS)- Youths are the builders of the future Bangladesh and their sacrifice in the July uprising have created an opportunity to build a new Bangladesh.

Rangpur divisional commissioner Md Shahidul Islam said this while inaugurating a badminton tournament at Rangpur Indoor Stadium in the city yesterday.

Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal presided over the inaugural ceremony of the tournament organized by district administration and district sports council in which 15 teams from various educational institutions are taking part.

The tournament is a part of “Youth Festival-2025 which has been organized in memory of the martyrs of the July uprising with a call for forging unity among youths as well inspiring them to nurture values of morality, truthfulness and love and grow collective mentality in them.

The divisional commissioner expressed his firm conviction that the spirit of the Youth Festival-2025 will inspire the future generation to build the beautiful Bangladesh.

Government officials, leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement, teachers and students of various educational institutions and journalists attended the function.

Earlier, a colorful rally was brought out in the city on the occasion of the Youth Festival-2025.
