Youth is not time but prospect: Adviser Jahangir

RAJSHAHI, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS)- Home and Agriculture Adviser Lt Gen (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said Tarunya (Youth) is not the time but prospect that can lead the young generation towards nation-building activities.

“Youth is a mentality, a vision and an internal power which teaches the young forces on how to see the world in a new way. Young generation is the driving force of the society," he added.

The Home Adviser was addressing the closing ceremony of a five-day Youth   Festival 2025 at city’s Satellite Town High School Playground   as chief guest.

District administration and the Department of Youth Development (DYD) jointly organized the event. 

Various products of different entrepreneurs were on display in 60 stalls of the festival. 
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Khandaker Azim Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Afiya Akhter, among others, also spoke.

The adviser also said the youths from the age of 15 to 35 are one-third of the country's total population and emphasis should be given on transforming them into a strong work force for overall development of the county.

He said youths are the most energetic, active and reactive parts of the society and the gathering will inspire them to the nation-building process enormously.

Later, the Adviser distributed prizes among winners of different competitions organized to mark the festival. 

The closing ceremony was followed by a cultural function performed by local artists from ethnic minorities.
