King Charles greets Bangladesh on Independence Day

DHAKA, March 26, 2026 (BSS) – British King Charles III has extended his best wishes to the Bangladesh President and its people on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

In a message, the British monarch conveyed warm congratulations, expressing his goodwill to Bangladesh’s leadership and its people.

“It is with sincere appreciation that I reflect upon the enduring partnership between our nations, rooted in the shared values and mutual respect that define our Commonwealth,” read the message. 

King Charles also noted the significant contribution of the Bangladeshi diaspora in the United Kingdom, which continues to enrich British society and strengthen bilateral relations.

Emphasising the importance of unity in a time of global uncertainty, he expressed hope for continued cooperation between the two countries, particularly within the Commonwealth framework.

The King further underscored the importance of joint efforts on climate action and sustainable development, appreciating Bangladesh’s leadership in building resilience and addressing global challenges.

“Our collaboration on climate action remains an essential feature of our relationship and I greatly value Bangladesh’s determined leadership in building resilience and advancing sustainable development as, together, we work to safeguard our environment and secure a more sustainable, prosperous future for generations to come,” said The King. 
He wished the people of Bangladesh peace, prosperity and continued progress in the years ahead.
