Toll mounts to 184 in Dominican Rep. nightclub disaster: rescuers

SANTO DOMINGO, April 10, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The number of people killed in the Tuesday collapse of a Dominican Republic nightclub has reached 184, rescue workers said late Wednesday.

"Unfortunately, we inform you that so far we have 184 people recovered (dead) according to the coroners' certificate," said Juan Manuel Mendez, head of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), as he announced the toll had increased by 60 victims from a Wednesday morning count.
