Rubio urges 'immediate de-escalation' from India, Pakistan

WASHINGTON, May 8, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio onThursday urged India and Pakistan to take immediate steps to de-escalate andengage in dialogue, as he pressed Islamabad to end any support for "terroristgroups."

Rubio, in calls with leaders of both countries, "emphasized the need for immediate de-escalation," State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said.
