Efficient use of technology in agriculture underscored

DHAKA, July 25, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a seminar said that in the current global context, the efficient application of technology in the agricultural sector is crucial for ensuring food security.

They also emphasized involving youth and leveraging the potential of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to build a technology-driven, and modern agricultural system.

They made the observation at a seminar titled "Agri-Frontiers 2025: Empowering Youth and Technology for Future Agriculture."

The Young Agriculture Cadre Officer Forum (YACOF) organised the event at the conference room of the Cotton Development Board in the city.

Over 300 agricultural officers from the 38th to 43rd BCS batches participated in the event.

Director General of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Md. Saiful Alam, was present as the chief guest.

In his speech, Md. Saiful Alam said, "We must make our agriculture more productive, modern, and sustainable by harnessing the potential of the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

He further added that agriculture officers are working tirelessly in every corner of the country, braving sun and rain, to maintain the continuity of agricultural production.

He also assured that necessary steps would be taken, in consultation with the relevant authorities, to ensure the rightful entitlements and facilities for agriculture officers.

Secretary General of the Retired BCS (Agriculture) Association of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Ahmed Ali Chowdhury Iqbal, among others, also addressed the event.
