RAMALLAH, Palestinian Territories, July 26, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The Palestinian Authority said Israeli forces killed two people in the occupied West Bank on Friday, with the military saying a man attempting to carry out a knife attack against settlers was shot.

The Palestinian health ministry also announced that a 14-year-old boy died on Friday of wounds sustained by Israeli military fire earlier this week during a raid in the northern West Bank.

In the southern Hebron area, the Palestinian Authority (PA) said "a citizen... was killed by Israeli occupation forces near Beit Fajjar, and his body is being withheld" by Israel.

A military statement earlier said that "a terrorist" had tried to attack the nearby Israeli settlement of Migdal Oz and was killed by a security guard.

The Palestinian man, who was not named, was "running toward the community while holding a knife" before being shot by the settlement's security guard, the statement said, reporting no casualties on the Israeli side.

Contacted by AFP, the military said it was looking into whether this was the same incident reported by the PA in Beit Fajjar.

In a separate incident also in the Hebron area, the PA said 19-year-old Wadih Samamra was killed "by the occupation forces' bullets". There was no immediate comment from Israel.

The Palestinian health ministry earlier announced the "martyrdom" of Mohammed Khaled Hassan Mabruk, 14, after "succumbing to serious wounds from (Israeli) occupation gunfire in the Al-Ain camp" on Wednesday.

The Israeli military and Palestinian media said forces raided the refugee camp in the Nablus area of the northern West Bank to arrest a wanted individual.

Contacted by AFP, the military did not comment on the teenager's death.

The Al-Ain camp has been the target of repeated Israeli military raids this year, which the army describes as "counter-terrorism" operations.

Occupied by Israel since 1967, violence has surged in the West Bank throughout the war in Gaza, sparked by the unprecedented Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.

At least 965 Palestinians, including militants and civilians, have been killed by Israeli security forces or settlers in the West Bank since October 2023, according to an AFP tally based on PA data.

In the same time period, at least 36 Israelis, including security forces and civilians, have been killed in Palestinian attacks or during Israeli military operations there, according to official Israeli figures.
