BSS: What are your election promises for the voters of his area?
Yunus Ali: We have understood the people's mindset by engaging with them. They want peace and security, and they reject terrorism, corruption, and looting. We aim to build a peaceful and safe town free from corruption and extortion.
Together with the people, we want to make Natore livable. We will also focus on developing Natore as a tourist destination and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
BSS: What are your instructions to the leaders and workers regarding the election code of conduct?
Yunus Ali: Our organization is disciplined. Leaders and workers follow the instructions of the high command. In line with those instructions, party banners and festoons were removed after the schedule was announced.
Our campaign activities will continue in accordance with the Election Commission's laws. We want to maintain our good reputation and ensure a positive atmosphere for the election.
BSS: What is your position on the referendum on the July Charter?
Yunus Ali: We want justice for the martyrs of the July Revolution and their due dignity. I believe the July Charter represents the very existence of Bangladesh. Therefore, we hold a strong position in favor of the charter and support a 'yes' vote in the referendum.
BSS: What are your expectations for the upcoming parliamentary elections?
Yunus Ali: We lost the 1991 parliamentary election by only 2,000 votes. Since then, we have remained close to the people, working to fulfill their expectations by understanding their sentiments. That is why they are responding both openly and quietly. If a fair election is held, we will win through a silent vote revolution, InshAllah.
