July warriors receiving treatment, rehabilitation, employment support, monthly honorarium: Minister

SANGSAD BHABAN, June 18, 2026 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan today informed  the Parliament that the government has adopted a long-term plan for the treatment, rehabilitation, employment and monthly honorarium allowances of those injured during the July Mass Uprising.

The minister disclosed this while replying to a written question tabled by opposition lawmaker Rokeya Begum (Women Seat-45) in the Jatiya Sangsad.

He said injured July Warriors are receiving free medical treatment at government hospitals. For those with severe injuries, the government is facilitating advanced medical care abroad through the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, based on recommendations from medical boards and proposals from the Health Services Division. 

“Bangladesh missions in the respective countries are overseeing the treatment process,” he said.

Ahmed Azam Khan said that, so far, 152 critically injured July Warriors have been sent to Thailand, Singapore, Türkiye and Russia for advanced treatment. Of them, 102 have returned home after completing their treatment, while 50 are currently undergoing treatment abroad.

The minister further said a database of 3,241 interested beneficiaries, including families of July martyrs and July Warriors, has been prepared to support their welfare and rehabilitation. Of them, a list of 1,937 individuals has been forwarded to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for training and rehabilitation programmes.

Regarding financial assistance, he said monthly honorarium allowances are being disbursed directly to the personal bank accounts of 13,344 July Warriors out of a total of 14,369 officially gazetted beneficiaries. 

Under the classification system, Category-A beneficiaries receive Tk 20,000 per month, Category-B beneficiaries Tk 15,000, and Category-C beneficiaries Tk 10,000.

The minister added that the process of bringing the remaining July Warriors under the allowance programme is currently underway.
