Three more die of measles-like symptoms

DHAKA, June 22, 2026 (BSS) - Three more patients have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 1,125 new suspected measles cases were reported nationwide, while 160 confirmed patients were identified, a DGHS press release said today.

The release added that a total of 77,743 suspected measles patients have so far been admitted to hospitals. Of them, 73,985 have recovered and been discharged after receiving treatment.

Since March 15, a total of 590 children have died from suspected measles across the country, while the number of deaths from confirmed measles stood at 93.

The DGHS data showed that the cumulative number of suspected measles cases reached 93,755, while 11,171 cases were confirmed during the period.

No death from confirmed measles was reported in the last 24 hours, the release added.
