CHATTOGRAM, June 22, 2026 (BSS)- A fire broke out at a Rubber Tyred Gantry ( RTG) Crane at Newmooring Container Terminal at Chattogram Port today. 

The fire originated at 2.55 pm, however, brought under control immediately following combined efforts of CPA’s own fire service personnel, Fire Service and fire fighters from Bangladesh Navy.  

No significant damage was occurred as fire fighters quickly doused the blaze within half an hour. 
RTG is used for loading and unloading of export-import containers to and from Chattogram seaport 

CPA Secretary (acting) Nasir Uddin said bulk and containerized goods handling activities at the port has been going on in full swing.
