One jailed for 10 years for violating minor girl

JAMALPUR, June 22, 2026(BSS) – A court here today sentenced a man to 10 years of imprisonment for violating a minor girl nine years back. 

Judge of Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal -1, Muhammad Abdur Rahim handed down the verdict against Zahidul Islam Zahid, son of late Shakhawat Hossain at village Baddojuri in Madarganj upazila of the district.

According to the prosecution, the convict raped a minor girl taking her to a nearby school field on October 7, 2017. 

After the incident, father of the victim registered a case with Jamalpur Sadar Police.

Later, police after investigation submitted a charge sheet against him.
