‎PIROJPUR, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced six people to life-term imprisonment in a murder case in Sadar upazila in 2014.
 
The court also fined them Taka 10,000 each, in default, to suffer six months more in jail.
 
District and Sessions Judge Md. Mojibur Rahman announced the verdict this afternoon in the presence of two convicts. The other convicts are absconding.

‎The convicted are Ejaz Sharif, son of Md. Hanif Sharif of Jhanjhania village in Sadar upazila, Md. Akkas Sharif, son of Habib Sharif, Sakhayet Sharif, son of  Jabed Ali Sharif, Akkas Sharif's wife Shefali Begum, Sakhayet Sharif's wife Happy Begum, Ejaz Sharif's wife Lima Begum, residents of the same area.
 
In addition, Hanif Sharif's son Md. Emran was sentenced to two years in prison.
 
According to prosecution, on the night of July 10, 2014, the accused attacked Abul Kalam Sharif with sharp weapons in front of the Akkas Sharif’s house.
 
Later, he succumbed to his injuries at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
 
The next day, on July 11, the deceased's brother Hakim Sharif filed a murder case with Pirojpur Sadar Police Station.
