Assistant Attorney General Ashik Rubaiyat resigns

DHAKA, June 16, 2026 (BSS) - Supreme Court lawyer Ashik Rubaiyat has resigned from the post of Assistant Attorney General. He submitted his resignation letter today to the Secretary of the Ministry of Law through the Attorney General.

In the resignation letter, Ashik Rubaiyat said, "I express my sincere gratitude for giving me the opportunity to serve in this position."

"However, due to personal reasons, it is no longer possible for me to continue working in this post. Therefore, I am resigning from the position of Assistant Attorney General today," he added.

Asked about Ashik Rubaiyat's resignation, Attorney General Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus Kajal told the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), "He does not attend office regularly. When asked to explain the matter, he failed to provide a satisfactory response. In such a context, he submitted his resignation letter."
