Source tax for broadband cut by 5pc

DHAKA, June 2, 2025 (BSS) - The source tax rate on broadband services providers has been recommended to be reduced to 5 percent from the existing 10 percent in the proposed national budget.

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed today made the announcement while unveiling the national proposed budget for FY26 in a televised speech.

Bangladesh currently has 1.4 crore broadband users, served by over 3,000 internet service providers across the country, according to data from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.
