Tk 31,039 crore proposed for Home Ministry

DHAKA, June 2, 2025(BSS) - The government has proposed Taka 31039 crore for the Home Ministry to ensure safety and security of the people and maintain law and order in the country, for the financial year of 2025-2026.

The finance adviser to the interim government Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, in his budget speech, proposed this allocation for the Public Security Division and the Security Service Division of the Home Ministry. 

In the proposed budget, Taka 27001 was allocated for the Public Security Division while Taka 4038 crore was given to the Security Service Division of the ministry. 

Of the total allocation for the Public Security Division (27,001), Taka 25,777 crore has been allocated as operating cost and Taka 1224 crore was given for the development sector.

The allocation for the Public Security Division of the home ministry was Taka 25,634 crore in its revised budget during 2024-2025 financial year. Of the total money, Taka 23997 was allocated for the operating cost while Taka 1637 crore was given for the development purpose of the division.

Besides, of the total allocation for the Security Service Division (4038), Taka 2702 crore was allocated for the operating cost of the division and Taka 1336 crore was given for development sector.

The allocation for the Security Service Division was Taka 3697 crore in its revised budget during the financial year of 2024-2025. Of the total allocated money, Taka 2480 crore was for meeting up the operating cost while Taka 1217 crore was for development sector.
