RAJSHAHI, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - Home Adviser to the interim government Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said that the ongoing 'Operation Devil Hunt' will continue until society is freed from devils.

"No kingpin and their cohorts will be spared during the operation. On the first day of the operation, five law enforcement officials were brought to justice. So, whether big or small, it does not matter-all listed criminals and wrongdoers will be netted," he said.

He made the remarks while talking to the journalists after holding a view-sharing meeting with divisional and district officials of two ministries-home affairs and agriculture-at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office here.

Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam, Commissioner of Rajshahi Division Khandaker Azim Ahmed, and Deputy Commissioner Afiya Akhter were present at the meeting.

"We have adopted all possible measures so that no innocent person is punished," he said, adding that the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and Legal Aid Officer will work for the innocent people who are facing false cases.

The Home Adviser said the people, who were victimized during the fascist regime, will obviously get legal aid. Not only the home ministry but also the legal aid department will provide support to them.

He also said prices of essentials will remain tolerable during the forthcoming Ramadan, adding "Currently, there is no fertilizer crisis."
