DHAKA, Mar 1, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam today said the National Consensus Commission's dialogue with political parties will begin soon.

"We hope the dialogue (between the National Consensus Commission and political parties) will commence soon," he said while replying to a question at a press briefing at Foreign Service Academy here this afternoon.

Responding to another query, Alam said the interim government is working to create a level playing field for all political parties so that a fair and beautiful election could be held in the country. "The interim government is equal to all," he added.

Mentioning that a roadmap for polls has already been given, he said the polls could be held in December with minimum reforms or within April next year.

BNP, may be, is seeking the exact date of the national polls, he added.

Speaking at the briefing, Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder said the media reports on recent robbery in Santhia of Pabna was exaggerated.

He said police informed that there was a robbery in five transports on a regional highway in Santhia last night, while law enforcing agencies rushed to the spot within 10 minutes after the incident.

Claiming that the interim government is working intensively to maintain the law and order in the country, Azad said it has sought support from all, including media to this end.
