
DHAKA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) - BNP's health support cell for oppressed women and children has extended assistance to an abandoned newborn at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) at the directive of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
After the parents allegedly fled the hospital leaving behind an infant who was born on November 23 at KMCH, members of BNP's health support cell for oppressed women and children visited the hospital to enquire about the physical condition of the baby.
The team spoke with hospital authorities to ensure proper treatment and safety for the child, said a press release of BNP media cell today.
During the visit, the cell's central coordinator and BNP's Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam spoke virtually with the attending doctors and nurses.
He also communicated with the hospital's Director Dr. Md Ainul Islam, Superintendent Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Assistant Director Dr. Ahsan Habib, and other physicians to inquire about the baby's overall condition.
On behalf of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, the Cell members handed over financial assistance and child-care supplies to hospital authorities for the newborn's treatment and protection.
Cell members Dr. Akramuzzaman, Dr. Abu Zafar Mohammad Saleh Palash, Dr. Tajrul Islam, and Dr. Humayra Muslima Bably were present.
Besides, Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Ali, Dr. Masudur Rahman Limon, Dr. Mosiur Rahman Dipu were also present.
