DHAKA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) - Pacer Abu Jayed Rahi ended a match haul of nine wickets as Sylhet crushed Chattogram by 147 runs in their fifth game of the National Cricket League (NCL) at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.

Put into bat first, Sylhet posted 255 before being all out in the first innings, a score that still earned them a 145-run lead when Abu Jayed sparkled with the bowling.

The pacer claimed 5-37 to wrap up Chattogram for only 110 runs, a total which eventually decided the course of the game.

Captain Zakir Hasan followed his 78 with 61 in the second innings as Sylhet piled up 205, setting Chattogram 353 for a victory.

Irfan Hossain and Nayeem Hasan grabbed five-wicket apiece for Chattogram but their batters put up another poor show. Only captain Shahadat Hosain Dipu stood tall to make 62 not out before Chattogram were all out for 205.

Abu Jayed ended with 4-43 while Rejaur Rahman Raja picked up 3-61.
