Seminar titled “Social Protection of Female Athletes in Country's Sports Arena” held

DHAKA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) - Although women's participation in sports of Bangladesh is increasing day by day, their social protection is still facing challenge.

Various obstacles and risks in the family, society, institutions and sports structures are hindering women's sports career.

To overcome this problem, a seminar titled “Social Protection of Female Athletes in the Country's Sports Arena” was held at the Audio Visual Center of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP). The seminar presided by BKSP Director General Brigadier General Md. Munirul Islam. 

The ideas, opinions, and experiences that the speakers shared about female athletes at the seminar enriched everyone present. According to them, the social protection of female athletes is not just an institutional issue, it is also a social responsibility, a national need.

Speaking at the seminar, BKSP Director General Brigadier General Md. Munirul Islam congratulated the female athletes for the glory they are bringing to the country and the nation despite many limitations and adversities. He also spoke about creating a safe, dignified, and supportive environment for female athletes. 

He spoke of a collective effort to build a sports arena where male and female players are assured of equal opportunities, dignity, safety, and financial benefits (including salary and allowances).

All current female players of BKSP, former players, teachers of BKSP College, female coaches, were among others, were present at the seminar.
