Police arrests 25 individuals in anti-crime drive at Mohammadpur area

   DHAKA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Mohammadpur station today said it arrested 25 people overnight suspecting their involvement in criminal activities, as part of anti-crime campaign in the area.

   “We arrested them olate yesterday and earlier today and by now produced them before the court,” officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station Kazi Md Rafique Ahmed told BSS.

   He said police also sought a court order allowing some of the 25 suspects to be remanded in their custody for interrogation.

   The police station chief said they continued the anti-crime drive with supports of army troops and police’s detective branch and added some of the suspects appeared to be habitual criminals.

   A subsequent DMP statement supplemented Ahmed’s comments naming the suspects, mostly in their 20s while six were 19 years old. Only one of those arrested was a 63-year-old man.
