DMP files 1,642 traffic violation cases

DHAKA, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) - The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1,642 cases against traffic law violators across the capital during a drive conducted yesterday.

The highest number of cases was recorded in Gulshan zone with 341 cases, followed by Uttara with 274 cases and Tejgaon with 273 cases. The violations involved buses, trucks, covered vans, CNG-run auto rickshaws and motorcycles, according to a press release.

During the operation, police dumped 288 vehicles and seized 142 others.

The DMP said such drives will continue regularly to ensure traffic discipline and improve road safety in the metropolitan area.
