DHAKA, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today set June 15 for submitting probe report in a case lodged over genocide and crimes against humanity which allegedly took place in Konabari, Gazipur, during the anti-discrimination student movement.

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order allowing a prosecution plea for three months time to file the report.

The prisons authority earlier produced the five accused former policemen before the court marking the hearing of the case. The five accused are former officer in-charge Ashraf Uddin, former officer in-charge Shafikul Islam, constables Akram Hossain, Fahim Hasan and Mahmudul Hasan.

The tribunal also set March 11 for interrogating constable Akram Hossain by the investigation agency in the case.

Confirming the matter to newsmen, chief prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam said the prosecution had pleaded to allow the investigation agency to interrogate Akram over the killing of Hridoy, who was detained for taking part in the mass uprising in Konabari area on August 5, dragged in the middle of the road and shot on his back from the point-blank range.

"Allowing our plea, the tribunal set March 11 for interrogating the former policeman," Tajul added.
