DHAKA, June 3, 2025 (BSS) – The government has started distribution of health card among the injured of the July mass uprising so that they can get treatment facilities free of cost from public hospitals across the country.
Primarily, the card will be distributed among 4,551 July warriors under 36 districts in the country.
The injured persons of the rest of the districts also will get the card in phases.
The health service division, which will distribute the card on urgent basis, has already started the process of sending the card to the concerned civil surgeons of different districts.
The civil surgeon of the each district will send information including name, designation, mobile phone and signature of their nominated representatives to the health service division for collection and distribution of these cards to the convenient places of the respective injured warriors, according to a letter issued by the ministry on Sunday.
Of the 4,551 warriors who will get the cards from 36 districts, include 112 from Kishorganj, 430 from Narshingdi, 108 from Cumilla, 168 from Chattogram, 106 from Feni, 82 from Barishal, 377 from Dhaka, 60 from Dinajpur, 86 from Sylhet, 255 from Tangail, 143 from Sirajganj, 39 from Gaibandha, 296 from Bogura, 166 from Lakshmipur, 17 from Brahmanbaria, 34 from Nilphamari, 221 from Thakurgaon, 15 from Kurigram, 375 from Gazipur, 101 from Noakhali, 27 from Jenaidah, 4 from Natore, 100 from Narayanganj, 432 from Kushtia, 13 from Pirojpur, 6 from Joypurhat, 179 from Mymensingh, 112 from Rangpur, 76 from Bhola, 118 from Chandpur, 13 from Jesshore, 5 from Naogaon, 81 from Madaripur and 95 from Borguna.
The health services division said the injured of the July warriors are eligible to take the necessary treatment free of cost or get special discount through the health card. “The health card service usually is an official recognition from the state for their sacrifice and bravery,” said the health services division.
Earlier, Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the health card distribution programme of the health ministry at the state guest house Jamuna to ensure free treatment of the injured of the July mass uprising at all the government hospitals.
During the inaugural session, the chief adviser handed over the health card to two mass uprising warriors –Ifat Hossain, a student of Narshingdi United College and Israt Jahan Imu of Dhaka University’s disaster management department.
