BOGURA, June 10, 2025 (BSS) - Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin today said it is not true that the sellers are getting lesser price of rawhides of the sacrificial animals during this Holy Eid ul Azha.

He said that the government had earlier fixed the price of salted rawhides while the price of salted rawhides is expected to become higher even from the fixed price.

The Commerce Adviser said this while replying to questions of reporters after visiting the temporary preservation place of rawhides of sacrificial animals at Zamil Madrasah in the district town today.

Bashir said that following directives from the Chief Adviser, some 7.50 lakh maunds of salt was provided to the Mosques, Madrasahs and orphanages free of cost before the Eid for the first time in the country in a bid to restore stability in the rawhides market.

He said that the successive political government may utilize the experiences of the interim government in this regard to make a solid footing in this endeavour and thus become more motivated to materialize the rights of the Madrasahs and Orphanages.

Bashir also opined that the orphanages should have rights on the Hashil of the cattle market alongside the rawhides while this might be reflected in the Hut Policy.

Deputy Commissioner Hosna Afroza, Police Superintendent Zedan Al Musa and other senior officials were present.

Earlier, the Commerce Adviser visited the permanent and temporary sacrificial animal rawhides preservation areas in Natore and Joypurhat.
