
DHAKA, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS)- The deadline for submission of the nomination papers in the upcoming 13th national elections will not be extended.
Senior Secretary of Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed said this to journalists at Nirbachan bhaban here today.
According to the polls schedule, the last day for submitting nomination papers to the Returning Officer/Assistant Returning Officer expired at 5 pm today.
In his address to the nation on December 11, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin announced the schedule for the 13th parliamentary elections.
As per schedule, scrutiny of the nomination papers will begin tomorrow (December 30) and it will continue till January 4 next.
According to a revised decision of the Election Commission on December 18 last, candidates can appeal against the decision of the Returning Officer from January 5 to January 9, two days less than previous schedule.
The date for disposal of the appeals is from January 10 to January 18, two more than EC’s earlier decision.
The last date for withdrawal of candidacy is slated for January 20 while the date for allocation of symbols is January 21.
The voting of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum will be held on February 12 from 7:30 am to 4:30 without any break.
