PM phones three senior journalists, extends Eid greetings

DHAKA, March 21, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today exchanged greetings with three senior journalists over phone on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

The three journalists are: Ekushey Padak winning Shafik Rehman, The New Nation Editor Md Mokarram Hossain and Anis Alamgir.    

Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan (Hasan Shiplu) confirmed the matter, saying the premier phoned the three journalists today and exchanged Eid greetings as well as inquired about their health.

Md Mokarram Hossain, also former BSS managing editor, said he received a call from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman this afternoon when the premier inquired about his health and extended the Eid greetings.

“It was surprising to have a phone call from the Prime Minister. He inquired about my health and extended Eid greetings,” Mokarram said, adding, he was very happy with the notable gesture from the head of the government on a festive day.

Besides, Anis Alamgir said that he got a phone call from the Prime Minister around 7pm, inquiring about his health condition and extending Eid greetings to him and his wife.
